We have 2 flying sites, both located in the South Manchester area.  Please note the flying times, any member flying outside these times will be excluded from the flying sites.

At various time during the year Dog Training events are run on the Mottram fling field. When these events occur, the landowner has agreed that we continue to fly on normal flying field. However, at such time the flying area will be modified so that the Pits are against the fence line with its back to the Dog Event and flying will take place to the left and right from a point 30 meters into the field.

Chelford

Using Google Maps: Aslte Park, Chelford

At various time during the year events are run on Astle Park; the Chelford flying field. When these events occur, the landowner has agreed that we may be able to fly on the field behind the farm. Access to this field is down Lapwing Lane (the lane that is opposite to the gate to our normal flying area). Drive down the lane until you reach the first house on the left (Lapwing Hall Farm). Take the 1st entrance to the farm, on the left. Drive across the yard to the very large barn in front of you, parking in front of the barn. Enter the field through the gate on your left and walk around behind the barn you. This is the temporary flying field. Please note that to your right is a VERY DEEP quarry. DO NOT over-fly the quarry!

Due to the proximity of the two fields; flying must only be on Astle Park (the normal flying field) OR behind the farm, but NOT both at the same time! It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that flying does not occur simultaneously at both! To help ensure this does not happen the field behind the farm may only be used on the following dates:

Flying Times 

Please be aware that when the local noise around the flying fields reduces, for example there is less traffic passing by, the apparent noise generated by our models may become much more noticeable and therefore more intrusive. Please be aware and sensitive to any change in local conditions and act accordingly. To do so is in your own interest!

Please take note: the Chelford flying hours have been reduced to Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 7pm (an explanation as to why this is so will be sent to all members as soon as possible!)
