Weather: Very light South West Breeze, 24degC
A
glorious day! Warm sunshine, a slight breeze (to provide just a little help with
those autos) and a good turnout of members (see left). The club has quite a
large contingent of new members and some have been struggling, one way or
another, to get their heli's going and get in the air. Whether it is the great
weather, or just perseverance, they all seem to make major steps forwards
and get into the air, if only with "bunny hops", but there's nothing wrong with
that!!! A great deal of thanks goes to Colin McFarland who helped Paul Ward get
his ship ready for action, Andy Harrison for his eternal patience and to SP who
quietly works in the background and helped Pete Crossley get his heli under way
- after a fairly traumatic start. I strongly recommend scanning through our
Tips and Tricks, as it it could save
you a lot of heartache (though its not guaranteed of course)!
SP's
OS90 powered Eagle (see left) must be one of the quietest heli's around. But
Andy's 3DNT wasn't prepared to take that
suggestion sitting down and muscled in on the pictures (see right).
David's
Xcell Graphite 60SE (see left) probably wins the beauty contest though. And with
a proud father (see below).

Weather: Damp!
I wont write a lot today... we don't often get a scale model on the field, so I will let Richard Fry's Airwolf (built by Joe Curry of Revolution Models) do the talking!
Pretty impressive, eh?
We had a good turnout to watch too (left!).
SP's
Freya rises again like a Phoenix, after some apparent stupidity by someone else
caused the destruction of the original Eagle - even the OS90 didn't survive.
Colin McFarland's little Eolo provides good flying times (left).
Lastly,
just to prove even the indomitable 3DNT can have its off days (left)!
